Do you know what the Santa Clara Valley Water District does? If not, you’re not alone. We’re working to change that.
The water district is the primary water wholesaler in Santa Clara County. Our job is three-fold: to provide the county with safe, clean water; to provide flood protection; and to be good stewards of the environment.
This work can encompass a number of tasks, from building flood protection projects designed to keep thousands of homes and businesses out of harm’s way to importing water from outside our county to make sure we meet our residents’ needs to restoring habitat for wildlife.
You may have heard ads mentioning all those things, plus our need to invest in infrastructure to continue to provide water to Silicon Valley. We are spreading the word about what we do to help taxpayers understand better what their money is going toward.
