  1. Before removing a tree we must consider several factors including whether the tree provides habitat to a number of species. Tree removals are highly regulated by local government and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Dead trees that are a potential hazard to people or property can typically be processed and completed in 1-2 weeks. Dead trees that do not pose a legitimate public hazard can take several more weeks to process and may include a replanting schedule/plan, specialized biological surveys, and other conditions of the tree removal permit.
